How do I paint?+
Pick a paint from your tray, then brush inside any cell with that number. Paint only sticks in matching cells (unless the painting was made with the freehand brush, where strokes can spill). Fill a cell almost fully and it snaps complete with a little shimmer. Tired fingers, take note: once you have started a cell, double-tap it to finish it in one go.
How do I zoom and move around?+
Scroll or pinch to zoom, hold Shift and drag (or use two fingers) to pan, and double-click to fit the whole canvas back on screen. The + / − / fit buttons in the corner do the same.
How do I paint with other people?+
Press Invite in the top bar and share the link. Anyone who opens it joins instantly, no account needed. You will see their named cursor and every stroke live. Public paintings are also listed on the home page for anyone to join.
Why can't I use some colors?+
If the painting has paint sharing on, the kit gets split between painters when someone joins: you each hold your own paints, like a real table. Drag one of your paints onto a partner's tray to give it to them, and they can send paints back the same way.
What is mystery mode?+
A mystery painting hides the finished picture. Joiners see only the numbered cells, and the image reveals itself as everyone paints. Lovely for surprises.
What happens to finished paintings?+
They stay in your easel forever. Open one to see the before-and-after compare slider, or press Replay to watch every brushstroke play back from the beginning.
Do I need an account?+
No. You pick a painter name once and it lives in your browser. Your easel, backdrop choice, and passwords you have entered are remembered on this device.
Is it really free?+
Yes. Painting, creating, the picture library, and playing together are all free. A few unobtrusive ads beside the canvas (never on it) help keep it that way.
Can we play from different countries?+
Absolutely. Paint Together works anywhere with an internet connection, which makes it a favorite for long distance couples and far-flung families. Share the painting link and you are on the same canvas within seconds, no matter the time zone.
Does it work on phones and tablets?+
Yes. Paint Together runs in the browser on phones, tablets, and computers with nothing to install. Pinch to zoom on a touchscreen, or paint with a stylus for the steadiest lines.
